English Ver.
Under a wasteland where even the harsh midday sun could not reach,
endless rows of nameless gravestones carpeted the ground.
This was where those who had been stripped of their names lay buried—
a graveyard for existences the world had chosen to forget.
Gales of dust coiled between the stone markers,
and black sigils clinging to their surfaces rose up like a forest of walls.
In the midst of it all, Lune walked on in a daze,
her unfocused gaze drifting over one gravestone after another.
“This place is… where my name is buried.”
Her lips trembled as she whispered.
She stopped before one stone and reached out,
her fingertips tracing the characters carved into its worn surface.
“Laenua.”
The name was both strange and familiar,
piercing her chest like the name of a stranger that somehow belonged to her.
“Why… does it feel so unfamiliar?”
She muttered inwardly.
Even the memories she could recall were scattered and blurred,
like puzzle pieces that no longer fit together.
Only then did she feel it—
a presence flickering behind her like an afterimage.
Before she even turned,
a small figure stood at her back.
A young Lune.
Yet her face was utterly devoid of expression.
Cold, emotionless eyes met Lune’s with the exact same color.
“You forgot who I am.”
The voice was icy,
but inside it, something faint and sorrowful quivered.
Lune’s body stilled, a fine tremor running through her.
Even the sound of her breath thinned to a fragile thread.
“These aren’t feelings you threw away.”
A chill sank quietly into a corner of her chest.
“They’re feelings that were taken from you.”
The young Lune’s face slowly began to distort.
The outline of her features blurred like wet ink,
and a shadow spilled outward over her skin.
Black smoke rose from her shoulders,
spreading up and over her head until it swallowed her whole.
At the center of that dark mass,
only a pair of crimson, vacant eyes remained, staring straight at Lune.
“You really believed it, didn’t you?”
the shadow whispered.
“That you had to erase your feelings to survive.
So you dug a deep grave and buried me—
these parts of you—far beneath the earth.”
Each word fell heavy on Lune’s chest,
like stones piling up one by one.
The truth she’d held down for so long broke through the cracks,
and tears gathered at the corners of her eyes, then spilled over.
She braced herself against the stone, drew a shaky breath,
then clutched at her chest and cried out:
“I never wanted to erase you!
I just… couldn’t handle you back then…”
As if in response, the surrounding gravestones began to shiver.
A faint vibration rose from the ground,
traveling up through the soles of her feet and into her bones.
The landscape blurred at the edges.
The barren graveyard lost its color,
and in its place came the harsh lighting of a lab and the glint of metal walls.
In front of her: a young Lune, writhing in pain inside a glass chamber.
And beyond the glass, Gerhardt, watching her with cold, clinical eyes
just before the experiment began.
Snippets of memory projected themselves over the gravestones,
one after another.
“She was never a seal to begin with.”
The whisper came from somewhere between scenes.
“She was simply someone… built with the structure of a seal.”
The images shattered like broken glass,
and the graveyard returned.
In the present, Lune stood facing the shadow in the dark,
her eyes still trembling.
The being said nothing at first.
Then it quietly held out a hand.
“You can’t forget me.”
The voice was low, steady.
“If you do… we’ll never be able to live together.”
Lune closed her eyes for a moment.
Then, with a small, resolved breath, she reached out.
The instant their fingertips touched,
black light flared from her shoulder.
It spread over her arms, across her chest and back,
down her legs—drawing new patterns into her skin.
At first, the marks were ink-dark,
but layer by layer they peeled into a lighter shade
until they reached the center of her chest,
where they turned a clear, bright white and engraved themselves deep.
“Now I understand,” Lune murmured.
“This isn’t a darkness trying to swallow me.
It’s a power that stitches together the parts of me I lost.”
Far away, in the watchers’ headquarters,
under cold lights and a thicket of monitors,
Ainera stared at the data with a tense expression, then issued an order.
“Recovery of Laenua confirmed.
Initiate Phase Three infiltration.
Deploy ‘mask weapons’ to the border sectors.”
Elsewhere, in a separate room,
Gerhardt watched a different screen and let out a heavy sigh.
“…So. She’s finally made it this far.”
Some time after she left the gravefield behind,
Lune found herself standing in yet another unfamiliar place.
A pool of black water—smooth as polished glass—flowed at her feet,
and above its surface, at the very center,
hung a single door shimmering with light.
The Mirror Gate.
“That’s…”
Lune whispered.
“Another door that reflects me.”
As she stepped closer,
a second Lune emerged from beyond the door—
dressed in white, a cold, flawless smile on her lips.
“Welcome,” the other Lune said.
“From here on… it’s you and me against each other.”
Lune instinctively reached out a hand.
In that same instant, a hairline crack crawled across the mirror’s surface.
A sharp sound rang out as the crack split and multiplied,
spreading in every direction,
and the entire space twisted with it.
“This is…”
Lune gasped.
“…the deepest place inside me that I can reach.”
At the very center of her gaze,
a triple-helix sigil formed in her pupils,
spiraling slowly as it drew in both shadow and light.
“That’s right,” she told herself.
“Now… I finally have the right to fight myself.”
In that whirling heart of darkness and light,
a new path—still unseen in its entirety—quietly opened.
Lune—Laenua—at last accepted her own name.
That name was the sign that her lost self had returned,
and the first spark announcing a new beginning.
